Wedding Bells- Part I

Congratulations Chris and Becca Horstmann! Chris and Becca finally tied the knot on April 12, and Becca became our sister. The weather could have cooperated a little more, but it ended up being a beautiful day. The ceremony was awesome, the bride looked gorgeous and the reception was a blast.

cheers !

What more could you ask for? Maybe a little more sun and a little less snow/ice/rain/sleet but we've heard that a little rain on your wedding day means good luck. If that's the case, icy snow-rain must mean GREAT luck!

On the Move

We know it's been so long since we posted on the blog- almost a year! Sorry we've been such slackers!! Needless to say, it's been a busy year. Our biggest news is that we have changed our address... we moved to O'Fallon! The months of April and May have been stressful with the move and weddings and showers and work, but we're finally moved in and we love our house!

The first thing we did when we got the keys was take down the wallpaper border in the kitchen. Um, 80's country is all there is to say. After many hours of scraping and peeling and sweating, we finally got it all down and painted over the leftover evidence.

very country...

to soothing sage green!

During the move, we had lots of help. Thanks guys!! The most traumatic parts of the day were getting the refridgerator out of the Wentzville house...

and into the new house. Once we got it into the new kitchen, we discovered it didn't fit in the alcove made for the fridge. We had to take out some of the baseboards and the desk/counter that was next to the fridge.

While the boys were working on that, I decided to wash the mattress cover. After asking to make sure the washer was ready to go, I loaded it and then started to get lunch together for the crew. While I was putting a sandwich on a plate I looked down and saw that the kitchen was flooding as water rushed under the wall that separated the kitchen from the laundry room! I think Tim and I saw it at the same time and the house thundered with me yelling "OH MY GOD!" because I was frozen in place and didn't know quiet else what to do. But don't worry, we soaked up the water with towels and the wet-vac, hooked up the sewer line to the draiage pipe and we were good to go. Now it's kind of funny... kind of.

There are still little projects we'd like to work on around the house. Luckily, I have the summer "off" to check some of the things off our list. Ha! But there is lots of room to grow...

This Bud's For You

the AB crew- Reiter, Brad, Kelly, Eric, Michelle, Amanda, Matt and Tim
(Heather took the picture)
Some friends of ours were in town this past week- Reiter from LA and Kelly and Brad from Colorado. We got a chance to get together with the gang last Friday for a BBQ at Eric's house before they all headed to the game. The plan was to tour the AB brewery downtown but who knew it was such a huge tourist attraction? We would have had to wait for over an hour for the tour, which would have made everyone late to the game, so we just went in the gift shop instead. Don't worry, we got to sample their fantastic beer in larger quantities back at Eric's house.
Tim gives the beer a thumbs up

Actually, we all drank Busch beer courtesy of Reiter, in honor of going to Busch stadium! I think that's a step up from Natty Light, Reiter (but not much)

It was great to see everyone again! And thanks for the great grub, Eric. :)

New Pictures of Ethan

I have new pictures of Jill and Ethan English from their visit to St. Louis! They stayed with us, and we were a little worried about the dogs with Ethan but they were fine. As a matter of fact, they loved him!! (we all do!) This is for those of you who can't wait to see the cutie, there are still more pictures to come once I get them (Dad...)

The Hurtt Wedding

Our friends Rob and Danielle got married yesterday, on June 23. Tim was honored to be a groomsman in their wedding. The wedding was beautiful, and so was the bride!
The reception was fantastic- we all had a great time! Of course, if you wanted to find Tim, he was probably on the dance floor. We kept the dance floor pretty full most of the night...

WHEW!!!

It has been a whirlwind the past few weeks! Heather started her student teaching last week and has been working too much- lots of homework, which is appropriate for a teacher... :) Last week her friend Jill came up with her mom and sister- and baby Ethan. Sooooo cute! They stayed with us for a few days and the dogs seemed to like having a baby around, but don't get too many ideas, guys! Those pictures are coming some time in the near future.

Heather has really been enjoying her teaching, even though it's a lot of work for her. But she's looking forward to really teaching this fall in her own classroom.

Tim's been playing a lot of softball lately, the usual. He really loves getting in his softball "competitive" fix! He would play every day if he could. We've been taking a lot of walks with the dogs lately, enjoying the late evening sunlight (and bugs)

OH! And the most important update of all- We're going to be an aunt and uncle! Tim's brother Steve and his wife Theresa are about 6 weeks along now and are due February 3rd. Heather's sooooo excited about it, but Tim's still getting used to the idea. ;)

Our Trip to Petsmart

Mom and Dad take us to Petsmart for our birthdays every year. Copper just turned 3, so we went to the Petsmart so he could pick out his present. Dad tried to give him a tennis ball and I loved it, but Copper wasn't so sure. I think he really just wanted to sniff all the different types of dog food that were on the shelves and talk to the other dogs that were there.

I tried to talk them into getting Copper a hamster, but they wouldn't go for it. I secretly hopped Petsmart would start carrying Meercats because I love to watch them on t.v. but so far they haven't gotten them in yet. Watching the hamsters in their cages was almost as fun as watching the animals on Planet Earth- my favorite show ever!

Copper ended up getting tennis balls that taste like Peanut Butter (we call them Crack balls because we're so addicted to them!) I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get home to eat them!

I know, I know, it was his birthday, but I usually talk him into letting me have them. I actually have both of them in my mouth at the same time which is a trick, let me tell you. Mom says it's because I have such a big mouth! Do you believe that? Copper wasn't too happy that I had them both, but what are big sisters for?

I eventually shared them with him, and Dad played Catch the Ball In the Air with us, until bed time. We were pretty tired from all the Petsmart excitement that day. I can't wait to go again, and maybe this time get a hamster in a ball to play with :)
